FumihikoUmezawa, M.D.
President
The 100th Congress
of
Japan Society of Aesthetic
Surgery
In the wake of the unprecedented earthquake and tsunami disaster that struck Japan’ s Tohoku District on March 11th this year, a number of academic
assemblies have been postponed and cancelled. We are quite regretful that the 100th Memorial Congress of Japan Society of Aesthetic Surgery, too, had
to be postponed until May 26th‐27th, 2012. We sincerely hope that our colleagues in Japan and from abroad will forgive us for any inconveniences that
this adjournment may have caused you.
Now that the effects of the radiation accident have been minimized and that Tokyo has regained its normalcy, we have decided to hold our meeting on
the above date at the same congress site, Hotel Okura Tokyo, Japan. We sincerely and earnestly ask our members and distinguished speakers in and
around Japan to participate in this memorial assembly and share innovative ideas and techniques for further advancement of aesthetic surgery. In
today’ s global society, we need international cooperation as well as domestic support to achieve this goal. We need your assistance. Please register now
for the 100th Congress of JSAS and submit your paper!
Lastly, we would like to express our greatest sympathy with the victims of the earthquake and tsunami disaster for their terrible plight. We also hope and
ask for an immediate reconstruction and renaissance of the Tohoku District.
